Masterplan for Ottenburg

"Storification approach"
The heart of a small town has recently undergone renovations—new benches, fresh paving, updated bollards, and additional parking spaces. Many things have changed. Yet, despite these updates, the town center feels oddly empty and underused.
A single regional road cuts through the town, dividing it in two. Although the surrounding neighborhood is relatively quiet, children still cannot walk to school safely. This raises a critical question: how can we introduce the essential elements of a livable neighborhood without resorting to radical transformations—while still aiming for a significantly better future?
Could children's needs be the key?
This challenge marked the beginning of our design principle called "storification analysis." It allows us to see the issue not just from a formal, technical perspective, but as an unfolding story—a living image evolving over time.
